In 1 Corinthians 1:12-13 the apostle Paul says,  "Now I say this, that each one of you says,  "I follow
Paul," and "I follow Apollos," and "I follow Cephas," and  "I follow Christ."  Has Christ been divided?
Was Paul crucified for you?  Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?" The body of Christ has
been divided into numerous denominations.  Disputes, dissensions and factions are works of the
flesh according to Galatians 5:20.

The political mandates of denominations should not take precedence over the scriptures and the
gospel of Jesus Christ;  "...being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is
one body, and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one
faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, Who is over all and through all, and in us all."
Ephesians  4:3-5   "For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body,
being many, are one body, so also is Christ.  For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body,
whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit."  1
Corinthians  12:12-13

Apostasy is always accomplished by Satan through false teachings.  Many of the apostles warned of
such teachings throughout the epistles.  In 1 Timothy 6:3-4 we see the apostle's admonishment,  "If
anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and the doctrine which is according to godliness, he is conceited, knowing nothing, but
is obsessed with arguments and disputes over words from which come envy, strife, insults evil
suspicions and constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of he truth, who suppose
that godliness is a means of gain: withdraw yourself from such."  The apostle Peter gives a similar
warning in his second epistle, chapter 2:1,  "But false prophets also arose among the people, as
false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying the
Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction."  "These are the ones who cause
divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit.  But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves in
your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.  Jude verse 19

The apostasy is now in its final stages with the introduction of humanistic, new age, occult and
eastern religious philosophies.  About this, Paul prophesied in II Timothy 4:3,  "For the time will come
when they will not listen to sound doctrine; but having  ears that itch, they will gather for themselves
teachers in accordance to their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn
aside to fables.  But you be sober in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist and
fulfill your ministry."

Persecution will finally put an end to the current divisions.  Jesus tells us this in Matthew 24:9-10,
"Then they will deliver you to oppression, and will kill you.  You will be hated by all nations for My
name's sake.  Then many will stumble, and will betray one another and will hate one another."  Those
who will perpetrate this persecution are mentioned by David in Psalm 74:8,  "They said in their heart,
"We will crush them completely."  They have burned up all the places in the land where God was
worshipped."  "Remember the word that I said to you,  'A slave is not greater than his Lord.'    If they
persecuted Me they will also persecute you; it they kept My word, they will keep yours also."  John

Our Lord Jesus Christ talks about the plight of His people in Isaiah 42:22,  "But this is a robbed and
plundered people; all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons.  They have
become a prey  and no one delivers them, and a spoil, and no one says, "Restore them!"  But the
Lord, our Deliverer and Savior, has promised us in Ezekiel 34:11-12,  "For thus says the Lord God,
"Behold, I Myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out.  As a shepherd seeks out His flock
in the day when he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out My sheep and will
deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a dark and cloudy day."

"For where two or three have gathered together in My Name, there I am in their midst."
Matthew 18:20
